The short version. We collect what we need to run Seen and nothing more. Your conversations stay private and are never sold. Analytics and ad measurement run only if you say yes. You can ask us to delete everything at any time by writing to hello@learnbetter.si.
Who we are
Seen is made by SIA LearnBetter, a company registered in Latvia with registration number 50203681041. SIA LearnBetter is the controller of the personal data described here. You can reach us at hello@learnbetter.si.
What Seen is, and what it is not
Seen is a wellbeing and self-understanding companion for women who think differently. Over four weeks it helps you notice how your days really go, understand your own patterns and try small changes. You can text Seen in WhatsApp, and you get a private page where your patterns build up.
Seen is an AI companion, not a person. Its replies are written by AI models from our providers listed below. No person at Seen reads your conversations as part of the normal service.
Seen is not therapy, not a medical service and not a medical device. It does not diagnose or treat any condition, and it is not a substitute for professional care. The pattern quiz is a reflection exercise, not a diagnosis.
What we collect
When you visit the website
- Our host, Cloudflare, processes technical data such as your IP address and browser type to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
- Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page views without cookies and without building a profile of you.
- Only if you choose Accept in the cookie banner: PostHog records which pages and steps you use, and the Meta pixel tells Meta that someone who saw our ad visited, started the quiz or paid. See Cookies below.
When you take the pattern quiz
- While you answer, we record each step anonymously: a random session id made fresh in your browser, the step, the answer you picked, the time and the campaign link you came from (for example utm_source). This tells us where the test is confusing. It contains no name, email, phone number or IP address.
- If you choose to keep your pattern, we store your answers, your pattern, your first name, your email, your WhatsApp number if you add it, and a record of your consent (the exact words, their version and the time). The same random session id links your earlier steps to this record.
- To stop abuse we count requests per connection using a one-way hash of your IP address that changes every day. It is kept for at most two days and is never stored with your answers.
When you pay
Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see your full card number. We receive your name, email, phone number if given, what you bought and whether the payment worked.
When you talk to Seen
We store your messages and voice notes, and the short notes and patterns Seen builds from them, so that Seen can keep the thread from one day to the next and show your patterns on your private page. Your WhatsApp number and profile name come from WhatsApp.
What you share with Seen may include information about your health or wellbeing. We process it only to run Seen for you, based on your explicit consent, which you can withdraw at any time by stopping the conversation and asking us to delete your data.
When you write to us
If you use the form on the For clinicians page or email us, we keep your name, role, organisation, email and message so we can reply.
Why we use it, and on what legal basis
| Purpose | Legal basis (GDPR) |
|---|---|
| Running Seen for you: the programme, chat and your patterns page | Contract (Article 6(1)(b)). For health-related details you share: explicit consent (Article 9(2)(a)) |
| Keeping your pattern quiz result and contact details to set up your four weeks | Consent (Article 6(1)(a)), given with the checkbox at the end of the quiz |
| Taking payment and keeping accounting records | Contract and legal obligation (Article 6(1)(b) and (c)) |
| Anonymous test step counts, security and abuse prevention | Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)): keeping the service safe and understandable |
| PostHog analytics and the Meta pixel | Consent (Article 6(1)(a)), given in the cookie banner |
| Answering your messages | Legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)) |
We do not sell your data. We do not use your conversations to advertise to you. We do not make decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects based only on automated processing.
Who helps us run Seen
These companies process data for us under data processing agreements. They may only use it to provide their service to us.
| Provider | What they do |
|---|---|
| Cloudflare | Hosting, security, our database, cookieless web analytics and the anti-spam check on forms |
| Stripe | Payments and receipts |
| OpenAI, and OpenRouter where used | The AI models that write Seen's replies and turn voice notes into text |
| Meta (WhatsApp) | Delivering messages between you and Seen in WhatsApp |
| PostHog (EU cloud) | Product analytics, only with your consent |
| Meta (pixel) | Measuring our ads, only with your consent |
Where your data is stored
We keep our own records, including pattern quiz results and conversations, in the European Union. Some providers, such as OpenAI, OpenRouter, Meta and Stripe, may process data in the United States or other countries. When they do, the transfer is covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
- Anonymous test steps: up to 13 months.
- Pattern quiz details if you do not start Seen: up to 6 months, then deleted.
- Conversations, notes and patterns: while you use Seen, then up to 12 months after your last message, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
- Payment and invoice records: as long as Latvian accounting law requires.
- Messages to the team: up to 2 years.
- Daily IP hashes for abuse limits: up to 2 days.
Your rights
You can ask to see the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, limit how we use it, receive a copy in a common format, or object to our use of it. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time, and this does not affect what happened before.
To use any of these rights, including deleting everything, write to hello@learnbetter.si from the email or WhatsApp number you used with Seen. We answer within one month.
You can also complain to the Latvian Data State Inspectorate (Datu valsts inspekcija, dvi.gov.lv) or to the data protection authority where you live.
Cookies and similar storage
Necessary storage, always on: your cookie choice (kept in your browser's local storage) and your place in the pattern quiz (kept in session storage until you close the tab). These never leave your device.
Only with your consent: PostHog sets cookies to recognise a returning browser, and the Meta pixel sets cookies such as _fbp to measure our ads. Cloudflare Web Analytics uses no cookies.
You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings, also in the footer of every page.
Age
Seen is for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone younger.
If you are in crisis
Seen is not an emergency service and cannot call for help on your behalf. If you are in danger or thinking about harming yourself, call your local emergency number now: 112 in the EU, 999 in the UK. You can also talk to someone at any hour: in Latvia call 116 123, and in the UK and Ireland call Samaritans on 116 123.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will tell you in Seen or by email before the change takes effect. The date at the top shows the latest version.
